INDIAN ASTROLOGY is an ancient system developed over a period of several centuries, to understand, analyze and explain the movements of planets, subplanets, etc. it is known as Jyotish Shastra - astronomical and astrological science, it is one of the six auxiliaries to the Vedas (the most ancient scripture of India) and provides knowledge about the effect and influence of planets, sub-planets, etc. on the lives of human-beings and others, in short, the universe at large. This ancient scripture of India is unique and scientific but in some quarters, authenticity and accuracy of its calculations and conclusions are questioned and doubted.

With a view toward creating an awareness of this ancient astrological system of India, enlightening the people and informing them of its scientific basis as well as the astronomical and mathematical correlations, the Bhavan,USA is organizing this first-ever held Conference in the USA in which several practicing scholars will participate and provide astronomical and astrological insights through different case studies. This Conference is meant for all scholars as well as laymen. Its objective is to make this unique science available to people at large.

In 1996 she received the Jyotish Kovid award from the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences. Her book on Vedic astrology is expected to be published in 2010. Rakesh Sharma ran this Club for a few years taking and analyzing palm prints of people of various interests to prove the authenticity of this science. Rakesh has been learning and practicing Astrology and Palmistry with many teachers including the renowned Astrolger in India Dr. K.S. Charak, FRCS. He has been organizing Astrology and Palmistry seminars at Arsha Vidya Gurukulan, PA for last 15 years. He lives in New Jersey, USA

He mastered Astrology & Vasthu under the guidance of Brahmasri Pampapathi Shastry. Since 1990, he has dedicated himself to studying amd propagating these ancient subjects as well as to helping people astrologically to solve multi-faceted problems. He has received several awards and titles including "Vidya Varidhi" from Sampoornanand Sanskrit University.
